David O’Connell

Hi, I’m David. I specialize in clinical orthopedic bodywork and corrective exercise and have over 20 years of experience optimizing wellness and physical performance by improving strength, flexibility, and postural alignment

David is a Certified Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) Therapist passionate about exploring the potential of the human body. Currently pursuing his doctorate in Psychology as a cognitive behavioral psychologist at Northeastern University, David aims to integrate the emotional and mental aspects with movement to create a holistic movement system.

David holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from Indiana State University (2000 – 2003). However, his true passion lies in exercise therapy, where he has worked extensively with numerous clients to improve their overall health and well-being. Drawing on his specialization in helping clients reach peak athletic performance and relieve untreated pain, David creates personalized stretching and strengthening programs tailored to individual needs.

David actively promotes health and wellness within his local community. He shares his knowledge and insights through lectures, presentations to small groups, and one-on-one discussions, emphasizing the benefits of movement, exercise, breathing, and meditation. 

David’s commitment to evidence-based information and educational content extends to his role as an expert for the Welltech team. He collaborates with the team to ensure that the health, fitness, and well-being articles are informative, supported by research, and provide simple, easy-to-follow instructions for readers to implement effective changes in their pursuit of a healthier lifestyle.

David has also gained valuable experience in the field of physiotherapy. He has held roles as a Chartered Physiotherapist at various clinics:

  • Portobello Physiotherapy Clinic (since October 2011), 
  • Balanced Physiotherapy Clinic (January 2013 – July 2013), 
  • Pearse Street Physiotherapy Clinic (October 2011 – January 2013). 

Through these positions, he has honed his skills in addressing client needs, offering personalized treatment plans, and helping individuals relieve pain while achieving peak athletic performance.
